On Wednesday, Amazon.com Inc filed a motion in court to get the U.S. Department of Defence and Microsoft to pause carrying out work on their $10 billion dollar cloud computing deal until the court rules on its protests against the contract.
Amazon was considered to be the top choice for the award and last week, it indicated that a temporary restraining order will be filed to hold off the contract’s initial activities by Pentagon and Microsoft.
The Joint Enterprise Defence Infrastructure Cloud, also known as the JEDI, ensures the military better data and technology access from remote locations.
Amazon Web Services said that it is a common practice to stay contract performance on a pending protest and evaluation errors and blatant political interference which impacted the review of the JEDI award decision.
Procurement has been delayed by legal complaints and interest allegation conflicts. Amazon, most recently, blamed U.S. President Donald Trump for bias and improper pressure to the Pentagon against the company.
Defense Secretary Mark Esper rejected another bias and Pentagon chose in a fair and free manner without any external influence.
