The Royal Mint launches Hogwarts coin, In addition to their Harry Potter series.
The Royal Mint, the official currency manufacturer of the United Kingdom, has released the final 1-oz coin in its “Harry Potter” collection. Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the publication. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was written by J K Rowling in the year 1997. Royal Mint celebrating 25 years since the publication with a coin featuring the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The Royal Mint’s “Harry Potter” collection is one of a few that saw a portrait alteration during the series. The first two coins in the collection featured Her Late Majesty’s portrait. While the concluding two coins featured King Charles III’s official portrait. A change in portrait during the series is uncommon, making this collection of coins extremely valuable. This coin series comes to an end with the release of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry 1-oz.
The “Harry Potter” coin collection has already sparked widespread interest, with collectors and “Harry Potter” fans in 86 nations purchasing at least one coin from the collection. The Royal Mint has seen a significant increase in sales.
Younger families and millennials (28%) purchased “Harry Potter” coins straight from the Mint, connecting with those who grew up reading the series of books and finding nostalgia with each coin in the series.
The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry collectible 1-oz. coin is part of a larger Harry Potter collection that includes coins depicting Harry Potter, the Hogwarts Express, and Professor Albus Dumbledore.
