LONDON (UK) – On Wednesday, the British government announced that it was time to move on after PM Boris Johnson’s senior adviser Dominic Cummings directed outrage for making a 400 km road trip amid the state-mandated coronavirus lockdown.
Dominic Cummings refused to resign after news came out saying that the PM’s aide had driven from London to northern England in March with his 4-year-old son and his wife, who was presenting with COVID-like symptoms, to be close to relatives.
Johnson supported his adviser against most of the Conservatives too.
“Now I think is the time for us all to move on. That’s not to say this isn’t an important issue or that people don’t care a great deal about it but I think there is a lot more that we need to focus on now, like the virus and the economy.”
