LONDON (UK) – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will resume work on Monday, according to a Downing Street spokeswoman, after his coronavirus recovery which had him in the intensive care unit for three nights in early April.
55-year-old Johnson will take back control of the government that is now facing economic fallout of shutdowns and a rising death toll.
On Saturday, Britain recorded over a staggering 20,000 deaths from COVID-19.
There has been going criticism on the British government’s response to the pandemic, especially regarding limited testing and shortages of protective equipment for medical workers and carers.
Dominic Raab, who was standing-in for Johnson while he was away, has faced questions on how Britain plans to ease the lockdown without a deadly second wave of infections.
