TOKYO- Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa does not resort to online dating- his methods of seeking out a girlfriend are a little more unconventional.
Maezawa’s latest attention-grabbing stunt, which shall soon be the basis of a new documentary, is related to his search for a girlfriend who will join him on a voyage around the moon.
The 44-year-old billionaire sold his online fashion retailer Zozo to SoftBank. Maezawa is looking for single females over the age of 20 for the documentary to be streamed on AbemaTV.
On a website seeking applicants, Maezawa says that loneliness and emptiness surge upon him and something that’s always on his mind is to continue to love one woman.
This ‘life partner’ must join him to shout out their love and world peace from outer space, being a companion to Maezawa on his 2023 space voyage around the moon as the Elon Musk’s SpaceX’s first private passenger.
Maezawa recently split up from 27-year-old actress Ayame Goriki. He plans on a project called ‘Dear Moon’ and so he intends to take artists along on the flight for them to create works based on the experience.
The documentary ‘Full Moon Lovers’ will be streamed on AbemaTV backed by online agency CyberAgent and Asahi. It targets a younger audience, those who shy away from indulging in traditional TV.
All applicants must be interested in space travel and must be able to prepare and participate in it. The applicant must also be someone who wishes for world peace.
The last day to submit applications is January 17th and Maezawa will announce the winner by end of March.
