(U.S.) – Gretchen Whitmer, the Governor of Michigan, declared an emergency after two dams breached with expected subsequent extreme flooding.
Two dams- Edenville and Sanford collapsed due to heavy rain and residents close to them have been warned to evacuate immediately.

Approximately 3,500 homes and 10,000 people have been affected by the evacuation notices so far. No injuries or deaths have been reported until now.
Residents were advised to shift to higher ground as far as possible from the Tittabawassee river.
The Tittabawassee River in Midland and the Rifle River near Sterling were in major flooding stage.
A flash flood emergency had also been issued in locations downstream of the failed dams.
