Russell Westbrook, the LA Clippers star, took the stage at the Variety and Sportico Sports & Entertainment Summit Presented by City National Bank to discuss his latest significant business move. He disclosed his involvement in an investor group that intends to acquire ownership of Leeds United. Westbrook elaborated on the process behind his involvement, sharing insights into his conversations with key figures already engaged in the venture, including the San Francisco 49ers.
“I was lucky enough to have conversations with some of the parters in this deal as well that already have ownership – as you mentioned the 49ers, I was lucky enough to talk through that… Just talking through different things, talking to my business parter as well, and having conversations and figuring out of this is the right deal,” Westbrook said.

While much of what Westbrook does off the court is business related, he made it clear at the Variety and Sportico Sports & Entertainment Summit on Thursday that he sees his platform as a blessing, and he said it’s something he wants to continue using for the greater good.
