DUBAI – The Portugal Pavilion launched Travessia, an exclusive and innovative jewellery collection by the Portuguese Jewellery and Watchmaking Association (AORP) at Expo 2020 Dubai on Saturday (19 February).
The collection, which will be exhibited at the pavilion during its Portuguese Jewellery Week from 19-25 February, presents a carefully designed collection inspired by the sea.
The collection was co-created by five manufacturers from Portugal and five prominent Portuguese celebrities across the fields of art, culture and sports, including music artist Blaya and Juliana Bezerra Jewellery; professional skateboarder Gustavo Ribeiro and Mesh Jewellery; guitarist Gaspar Valera and Farilu; singer and trumpeter Jéssica Pina and Tavares 1922; and actor Rafael Morais and Magajoias.
From teardrop-shaped rings to shell necklaces, each piece was carefully crafted by the creators to symbolise the connection between the sea and the things that inspire them.
The launch of the new global campaign at Expo 2020 Dubai aims to position Portugal as an international jewellery-maker and support national companies as they transition to the digital environment and industry, according to AORP.
The Portugal Pavilion, located in Jubilee, highlights the human spirit through the diversity and inclusiveness of its people, reflects the culture of creativity and innovation, and reveals an ecosystem of great opportunities.
