LONDON (UK) – Britain on Tuesday entered into a fresh round of Brexit trade discussions and said it could break international law in a limited way.
Following fears of a no-deal exit from the bloc, the pound slid sharply. The government’s legal department head resigned in disagreement with a plan to amend parts of the Withdrawal Agreement pact inked in January.
When asked if anything in the proposed law would breach international obligations or arrangements, Northern Ireland minister Brandon Lewis said: “Yes, this does break international law in a very specific and limited way.
