BAGHDAD – Iraq’s current caretaker Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi is soon to walk away from his role and shall not be conducting most of his official duties, according to a statement on Monday.
This has deepened an already established political crisis in Iraq.
Abdul Mahdi called for early elections from the parliament on December 4th which came not long after lawmakers no longer approved a cabinet of his designated successor Mohammed Allawi, who then later withdrew from being a candidate.
