LONDON – In the period from 2004 to September end 2019, Britain has received the highest immigrant numbers from non-European Union countries.
These numbers have been attributed to the increased number of Indian and Chinese students coming in, according to official figures.
In the 12 months to September 2019, total net immigration reached 240,000 after 642,000 people moved in while 402,000 left.
The ONS reported that EU citizen numbers moving to the UK for work dropped to its lowest figures since 2004.
