Hyatt is calling for an extension of the cancellation policy for China’s hotels and travellers by 3 weeks up to February 29th amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The extension is applicable on guests from China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan staying in any Hyatt property worldwide.
Guests who booked their stay through the Hyatt official channels, cancelling due to coronavirus, the policy allows those guests to cancel or reschedule free of charge. It was initially offered up to bookings made till 10th of February.
Customers who booked stays in Hyatt in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan could also cancel or reschedule at no cost.
On Saturday, Shangri-la Hotels also said it would allow China’s outbound travellers to cancel bookings till February 29th.
China’s Meituan Dianping also shall extend a free refund policy for reservations in hotels on the platform till February end.
