ZURICH (Europe) – On Thursday, the government of Switzerland shall be unveiling its plans to relax the country’s coronavirus shutdown put in place to curb the new coronavirus epidemic.
Swiss Health Minister Alain Berset is outlining a three-stage plan for the gradual reopening of businesses and schools shuttered for the past month.
Under the plan, companies providing personal services like hairdressers and physiotherapists can return to work from April 27.
The customers allowed on their premises will be restricted.
After two or three weeks for monitoring, schools may reopen on May 11. Restaurants and bars will be closed until June 8 at least, to be reopened in the third phase.
Regarding mass events like concerts or soccer matches, no plans have been made. Switzerland banned gatherings of over 5 people under its measures.
