ROME (ITALY) – Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has recovered from COVID-19, a source close to the matter said on Wednesday.
He has now tested negative for the virus and is waiting for a final confirmation, the source said.
Berlusconi, 84, was suffering from double pneumonia and was in Milan’s San Raffaele hospital for more than 10 days.
He will not be able to attend the wedding of his youngest son Luigi, who was also infected with the virus last month. However, he is thinking of taking part in the family dinner, which is to be conducted for the evening, the source said.
Berlusconi is believed to have got infected with the coronavirus during his holiday on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia.
