The city of Minneapolis has agreed to pay $27 million as settlement of a lawsuit by the family of George Floyd over his death in police custody, a case that triggered national protests over racial injustice and police brutality.
The Afghan government said it would participate in two separate US- and Russian-backed peace conferences in the coming weeks.
Russian police detained around 200 people, which includes several prominent opposition figures, at a meeting of independent and opposition politicians in Moscow, said the interior ministry said.
