LONDON (UK) – Finance Minister Rishi Sunak has said that his priority would be to protect as many British jobs as possible from the impact of the novel coronavirus. He said this amid preparation for the next round of support for the economy, which will be unveiled in the budget on March 3.
“My priority has always been to try and protect as many people’s jobs as possible,” the minister told broadcaster Sky News on Friday. “I think that is the right priority to have as we think about the next phase of the pandemic.”
He also said people wanted the government to be careful when it comes to easing some pandemic curbs.
