MANILA (THE PHILIPPINES) – The presidential spokesman of the Philippines Harry Roque said on Tuesday that the nation would purchase as many as 20 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine from Moderna Inc.
The shots from Moderna add to the nation’s agreements to purchase a total of 72 million doses from AstraZeneca, Novavax and Sinovac. The Philippines has the second-highest rate of coronavirus infections and deaths in Southeast Asia, next to Indonesia.
