On Friday, London police announced that they had charged a 29-year old man for the Park Road stabbing of the prayer leader in the mosque.
29-year-old Daniel Horton was charged with section 18 GBH and for possession of a bladed article. He is due to appear in custody on February 22nd in the Westminister Magistrates’ Court.
The prayer leader who was stabbed by Horton was Raafat Maglad and the attacker stabbed him around the top of his shoulder. In an interview, Maglad said that he had no hate for his attacker but felt sorry for him.
“I just felt blood flowing from my neck and that’s it, they rushed me to the hospital. Everything happened all of a sudden.”

Detectives did not believe the incident was terrorism-related.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson condemned the incident and said he was deeply saddened to hear of the attack.
