LONDON – On Friday, an emergency coronavirus response meeting was convened in Britain to discuss ways to contain it considering it has killed 26 and infected 800 in China, according to Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s spokesman.
The meeting labelled as the Cobra meeting is to be chaired by Health Secretary Matt Hancock at 1200 GMT with ministers from other departments in attendance.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the new Chinese virus to be an emergency for the country but did not go as far as declaring it as an epidemic causing international alarm.
The spokesman also added that they are in close contact with the WHO and other international partners like China and are prepared to take further action if need be.
