LONDON – An employee of the Barclays London Canary Wharf office has tested positive for coronavirus.
On Wednesday, Barclays confirmed that the employee worked on the ninth floor of the 5 North Colonnade office where the Barclays investment bank workers are housed.
Since 9th March, the patient had been in self-quarantine after receiving notification of potential virus exposure.
Colleagues who were seated next to the affected individual have been advised to self-quarantine. The building and the floor remain open.
Barclays is also undertaking deep cleaning of the affected floor.
The employee is the second coronavirus case in Barclays. HSBC had sent home 100 people after a confirmed diagnosis last week.
