LONDON (UK) – An Imperial College study has revealed that the spread of novel coronavirus in England slowed down in June and early July. The study involved 150,000 volunteers.
“As the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic in England transitioned out of its initial lockdown phase, prevalence of swab-positivity continued to decrease,” the Real-time Assessment of Community Transmission study found.
The study is slated to be peer-reviewed before a final report is published. It also found that the risk of infection was higher in London than in other areas of England and Black and Asian minority ethnicities had an increased risk of infection.
