TOKYO (Asia) – The Health Ministry of Japan has begun allowing saliva-based coronavirus tests. This move is made to boost the number of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests in the country.
Until now, nasal swabs were the only methods to test which was used in Japan. Patients sneezing at the time of collecting samples put medical workers at risk of potential infection.
