HONG KONG – Hong Kong tycoon Jimmy Lai, while in jail, has been taken under arrest again on suspicion that he assisted one of the 12 fugitives held captive by China at sea last year, local newspaper Oriental Daily reported on Wednesday, without citing a source.
Lai is currently detained and is awaiting a Thursday bail hearing. He has been charged for joining forces with foreign sources under Hong Kong’s new national security law imposed by Beijing last year.
