UK sees an extension of mortgage, business support as lockdown sets in England

LONDON (UK) – Britain’s finance ministry said a mortgage payment holiday scheme would see an extension for households and business premises. It would get grants of up to 3,000 pounds a month with the government announcing a month-long coronavirus lockdown in England.

The ministry added that businesses would have to contribute only 5% of the employment costs for workers, who are covered by an extension of the government’s emergency coronavirus job subsidy scheme.
