ZURICH, Switzerland — Horasis, the global visions community dedicated to inspiring our future, has announced it will be hosting its annual India meeting over the 26th and 27th November in Adelaide, Australia, in a joint effort between the Government of South Australia and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Taking place in the Adelaide Convention Centre in North Terrace, Horasis India Meeting will bring together more than 300 of the forum’s most senior community members. Over the two-day event, politicians, CEOs and leaders from some of India and Australia’s most respected organizations will connect to explore beneficial new ventures, leveraging Adelaide as a hub to invest in Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
Founded in 2009 by Dr. Frank Jurgen-Richter, Horasis India Meeting has become one of the most important annual meetings for Indian business leaders and their global counterparts.
Notable speakers for this years meeting include Frances Adamson, Governor of South Australia; R Dinesh, President, CII; Jane Diane Lomax-Smith, Lord Mayor of the City of Adelaide; Ashishkumar Chauhan, Managing Director & CEO, National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), India; Nick Champion, Minister for Trade and Investment, South Australia; and Peter Malinauskas, Premier, South Australia, Australia.
Topics for this year’s sessions will center around issues around repositioning India and Australia as technological and business hubs, enhancing trade relations across, addressing potential skills deficits across the Indo-Pacific region, furthering ESG in enterprises, and accelerating recovery, growth and transition.
“In the face of environmental and economic challenges met by the Indo-Pacific region, the time has come for its leaders to assemble, with the prospering city of Adelaide being the center for this dialogue.” said Horasis Founder and Chairman Dr. Frank-Jürgen Richter in a statement. “Only by working together will we be able to inspire our future, and address unprecedented environmental and economic challenges.”
Premier Peter Malinauskas welcomed the timing of the conference which follows the recent AIECTA trade agreement, sharing that: “Both India and South Australia embrace hi-tech and high-added value manufacturing which is critical to increasing our economic complexity. Our leadership in renewables and the emergence of our defence, space, and bio-med sectors will all be of interest to the delegates. As Australia and India look to leverage the newly signed trade agreement (AIECTA), events such as these place South Australia in an ideal position to create new trade and investment opportunities.”
Globally, India ranks 5th in GDP and Australia 14th, but by capita India is 122 and Australia 21st: and India is set to have the fastest growing economy in the Indo-Pacific at 8% or more. Both India and Australia embrace hi-tech and high added value manufacturing to support an Industry 4.0 model. The summit at Horasis India Meeting will help establish the new government initiatives needed to boost growth in both nations, and in which sectors are there opportunities for collaboration.
