Consumer confidence sees steepest monthly drop in France in April

PARIS (Business) – Consumer confidence in France suffered the biggest ever monthly drop in April during the coronavirus lockdown.

France’s monthly consumer confidence index fell to its lowest level since January 2019, this is a drop to 95 from 103 in March – marking the steepest monthly decline since INSEE started its survey in 1972.

Households’ outlook on the economic situation is the lowest on record and concerns about unemployment is at the highest since July 2015.
