LONDON – On Tuesday, Standard Chartered committed an amount of $75 billion (£57.5 billion) to finance sustainable development and its clean energy projects to reach its 2024 goals.

This is in line with expanding its aspirations in support of the Paris Agreement of climate change.

Standard Chartered is also targetting net zero emissions by 2030 from its branch and office networks.

Globally, financial firms are shifting towards tackling their role in fossil fuel project funding with rising concerns from public regarding the climate crisis.
