LOS ANGELES (US) – Tiger Woods has been shifted to a new hospital in Los Angeles, said the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center on Thursday, as he has shown signs of recovery from multiple injuries, following a serious car accident this week.
The 15-time major winner went through surgery to stabilise compound fractures of his tibia and fibula, after the dreadful accident on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff said Woods, 45, would not be subject to criminal charges in the crash.
Harbor-UCLA Medical Center interim CEO Anish Mahajan said on the hospital’s Twitter account, “Woods was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for continuing orthopaedic care and recovery.”
“It was an honour to provide orthopaedic trauma care to one of our generation’s greatest athletes.”
Woods, who was back from a break after having recovered from numerous surgeries from a 11-year major drought to clinch the 2019 Masters, has been showered with support from friends, athletes and former US Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama after the crash.
