Starting off with local coronavirus news- England’s chief medical officer Chris Whitty announced that two more coronavirus cases had been confirmed in the UK bringing up the total count to 15. British Airways has decided to cancel a few flights going in and out of Milan due to a reduced travel demand to the area, which is the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak in Italy.
From the royal family, Prince Harry wants to keep things informal and drop the prefix Prince- he’s just Harry!
A demonstration was held outside a north England coal mine by climate protest group Extinction Rebellion. This protest came as part of a three-day campaign against the expansion of the site. Located in Bradley, Durham, this coal mine is owned by the Banks Group and is open-cast. Open-cast mines are those wherein coal is extracted at a level closer to the surface as compared to those from deep underground.
The governor of the region of Lombardy, at the epicentre of Italy’s coronavirus outbreak, has placed himself in quarantine after one of his staff came down with the disease.
Attilio Fontana, who has held repeated news conferences this past week to explain how his region is dealing with the flare-up, announced the news on Facebook late and videoed himself putting on a surgical face mask.
