US sent ships to South China Sea to flex muscles, says Beijing
BEIJING (CHINA) – The US deliberately sent its vessels to the South China Sea to flex its muscles, said China’s foreign ministry on Monday, adding that Washington was trying to drive a wedge between the states in the region.
The comments were made by Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian during a briefing in Beijing in response to a question about two US aircraft carriers engaged in military drills in South China Sea.
