BRUSSELS – Alibaba co-founder Jack Ma pledged to donate two million protective masks to be distributed in Europe.
The first consignment was set to reach Belgium on Friday night.
500,000 masks and medical supplies like test kits were loaded onto a cargo plane which landed at Liege Airport. It is to head to Italy.
More flights are to arrive in the next few days to the airport. The airport is to become Alibaba’s main hub in Europe for its e-commerce shipments.
Ma will also donate 500,000 coronavirus testing kits and a million masks to the U.S. as he urges international cooperation to fight coronavirus.
