WASHINGTON- On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump discussed issues regarding the telecommunications network security with British PM Boris Johnson. This comes not long after Britain announced its preliminary decision on Huawei’s role in the 5G networks in the country.
They discussed issues which are important regionally and bilaterally including those matters concerning the telecommunication network security.
The final call shall be made by Britain by the end of the month regarding Huawei equipment deployment in the UK’s future 5G network. U.S. made sure to voice their concerns about the Chinese telecom network which Trump believes may compromise British secrets.
Huawei is the world’s largest telecoms equipment producer and it denies allegations of being an intelligence vehicle for China.
British officials proposed to grant the Chinese telecoms behemoth a limited role in the country’s future 5G network resisting Trump’s calls for a complete ban.
