(Technology) – Tesla shall reopen its New York factory “as soon as humanly possible” for the manufacture ventilators for coronavirus patients, according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Twitter.
Medtronic CEO Omar Ishrak said not long before Musk’s tweet that the medical device maker started working with Tesla on track to start the quick production of ventilators at Fremont.
Governments worldwide have appealed to automakers and aerospace companies to make ventilators and other medical equipment during the coronavirus pandemic.
Tesla bought hospital ventilators in China and shipped them to the U.S. according to Musk on Tuesday.
