(Technology) – Tesla is cutting contractors from its car and battery plants in the U.S.
Tesla is axing contractors at its vehicle assembly plant in Fremont, California as well as at its Gigafactory outside of Reno, Nevada.
This cut affects hundreds of workers.
“It is with my deepest regret that I must inform you that the Tesla factory shutdown has been extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a result, Tesla has requested to end all contract assignments effective immediately.”

Tesla’s production and delivery remained largely unaffected by the outbreak in 2020s first three months before it began suspensions last months at its Fremont plant.
