LONDON (UK) – In the wake of talks between the union and Centrica’s British Gas ending in a fiasco, a four-day strike will begin at the firm, said the GMB union.
To protest against what it terms plans to “fire and rehire” and slash workers’ pay and terms, the GMB union has already carried out several one-day strikes this year.
The latest call for strike had been suspended in order to allow discussions to proceed.
“Around 7,000 British Gas engineers will down tools for four days from today until February 23,” the GMB said.
With the strike on Friday, the number of strike days will go up to 22.
