Several NFL teams’ Twitter accounts hacked
On Monday, Twitter Inc announced that several National Football League (NFL) team accounts were hacked ahead of Sunday’s Superbowl.
Some of these team accounts included San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.
Twitter said that it locked the compromised accounts to launch an investigation of the situation.
The Green Bay Packers official Twitter account was hacked by an entity called “OurMine”, which have in the past, hacked Netflix and Sony Music’s Twitter accounts too.
Part of the tweet read that they were there to show everyone that everything is hackable.
The Superbowl is the largest annual televised event in the U.S., where over 100 million viewers from around the country tune in. It is set to happen on Feb 2nd in Miami with the face-off between San Francisco’s 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.
