SILVERSTONE (ENGLAND) – After Mexican Sergio Perez tested positive for COVID-19 again, Nico Hulkenberg will be retained as a stand-in for Racing Point at Formula One’s 70th Anniversary Grand Prix on Sunday, according to the team on Friday.
The 32-year-old German was roped in for British Grand Prix at the same circuit last week, however, it did not start after an engine problem.
The team said, “Sergio’s test has returned a positive result and he will continue to follow the guidance of Public Health England. He is physically well and recovering.”
It was also added that Perez’s quarantine period was over and whether he could race is being awaited.
