San Fermin bull-running festival in Spain off due to coronavirus

MADRID (Europe) – The annual San Fermin bull-running festival in Spain in July has been cancelled owing to the coronavirus crisis, according to the local authority.
“As expected as it was, it still leaves us deeply sad.”
– Ana Elizalde, acting mayor
The bull-running festival usually draws on thousands of participants and became all-the-more famous after Ernest Hemingway’s novel “The Sun Also Rises”.
It has seldom ever been cancelled in history.
