Russia’s Sputnik vaccine expected to arrive within days: Palestinian official
RAMALLAH (WEST BANK) – A Palestinian official said on Tuesday that the Palestinian Authority was slated to receive Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine shortly.
Last week, the Palestinian Authority’s health ministry issued an “emergency approval” for administering Sputnik in the occupied West Bank where the Palestinians have limited self-rule.
According to an Israeli official, the first batch of 5,000 units of the vaccine could arrive in the West Bank on Tuesday.
But Hussein Al-Sheikh, PA minister for civil affairs, said the delivery would not take place on Tuesday, adding that it would happen within days.
