Putin critic Navalny posts photo of himself walking on Instagram
MOSCOW (RUSSIA) – Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny posted a photo of himself walking down a flight of stairs on Instagram on Saturday. This comes five days after the hospital in Berlin, where he is undergoing treatment, said he had been taken off the ventilator and could breathe without help.
The leading opponent of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Navalny fell ill in Siberia last month and had to be airlifted to Germany. Lab tests in three countries revealed that he was poisoned with a Novichok nerve agent and several European governments have sought an explanation from Russia.
“Let me tell how my recovery is going. It is already a clear path although a long one,” Navalny wrote.
In the Instagram post, he said he still had problems trying to pour water into his glass or climb stairs as his legs trembled.
“There are many problems yet to be solved but amazing doctors from the Charite hospital have solved the main one,” the post said.
“They turned me from a ‘technically alive human being’ into someone who has high chances to become… a man who can quickly scroll Instagram and understands without thinking where to put his likes,” he wrote in his post.
