WARSAW (Reuters) – Poland’s President Andrzej Duda said on Monday he would want a representative of the conservative European People’s Party (EPP) to head the European Commission.
The appointee for the job is now Germany’s defence minister, Ursula von der Leyen, a member of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative CDU party, which is part of the EPP.
