LONDON (UK) – A spokesperson for the prime minister said on Monday that social media firms need to go much further and faster to remove hateful content. This comes in the wake of anti-Semitic comments posted by rap artist Wiley.
“Social media companies need to go much further and faster in removing hateful content such as this,” the spokesman said, adding that Boris Johnson supported the response by the interior minister who asked Twitter and Instagram why the posts remained there for long.
“I think the message is clear, Twitter needs to do better than this,” the spokesman said.
