Pandemic infects four employees of Danang factories employing thousands
HANOI (VIETNAM) – Vietnamese local media reported on Monday that the coronavirus outbreak in Danang a week ago has spread to four factories in the city known for its resorts. As many as 3,700 employees work in those factories.
Lao Dong daily said that four cases were detected at the factories located in different industrial parks in the central city. The parks employ as many as 77,000 people.
The country won accolades for the manner in which it contained the first outbreak and managed to remain free of fatalities and community transmission for three months. But the new outbreak has created clusters.
On Monday, the authorities reported a case linked to Danang which reported its first case on July 24.
The virus has spread to Hanoi, the business hub of Ho Chi Minh City infecting 174 people and killing six.
