#5: North Korea had asked Washington to offer a new initiative regarding Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons program and warned the U.S. that failure to meet expectations could result in an unwanted “Christmas gift.” The United States today said would be very disappointed if North Korea tested a long-range nuclear missile and that they would not hesitate to take appropriate action as the world’s leading military and economic power.

#3: Speaking of money, Sudan has set its 2020 budget which includes an overall 73 billion Sudanese pound deficit and the Finance Minister says that this budget bodes for peace.
#2: Pope Francis cited the example of Jesus, Mary and Joseph as a model family and urged people to keep their phones away and talk to each other at mealtimes. The Pope addressed the faithful gathered in St Peter’s Square as part of his weekly Angelus address.
#1: Turkish military cargo plane landed in Mogadishu to evacuate the wounded from the devastating truck bombing which killed over 90 people. The Turkish embassy tweeted that the plane brought medical staff and supplies as well.
