J.K. Rowling publishing free fairy tale for children during the lockdown

LONDON (Entertainment) – J.K. Rowling is all set to publish a fairytale called “The Ickabog” which will be available for free online. The move is so that children can read it during the lockdown.

The first chapter of “The Ickabog” is set to be published on Tuesday.

“Over 10 years ago, I wrote a stand-alone fairy tale called The Ickabog. Until very recently, the only people who’d heard the story of The Ickabog were my two younger children.”

– J K Rowling

The author best known for the Harry Potter series said the mostly handwritten manuscript had stowed away in her attic until a few weeks ago.

She has been rewriting in recent weeks.

“I’ve decided to publish The Ickabog for free online, so children on lockdown, or even those back at school during these strange, unsettling times, can read it or have it read to them.”
