HONG KONG – The leader of Hong Kong Carrie Lam said on Tuesday that the social distancing norms, which are slated to expire this week, will be extended as the city still remains on heightened alert in the wake of the number of coronavirus cases reaching triple digits.
While speaking at a weekly press briefing, she said the government would reveal the details of the norms later in the day.
There were as many as 107 new cases of the virus in the city on Monday. This has triggered concerns about a new wave of infections in the global financial hub where businesses have been hit hard by the pandemic.
