LONDON (UK) – Health Secretary Matt Hancock said on Monday that the number of infections is rising fast in some parts of the country and the government is not ruling out any further steps to try and stem the spread of the coronavirus, which include a national lockdown.
“It is a very difficult situation in terms of the growth of the virus,” the minister said on Sky News.
When asked if the government was mulling a new national lockdown, Hancock said, “We don’t rule anything out.”
