MOSINEE (US) – Five more countries are seriously contemplating normalising ties with Israel after the UAE and Bahrain, said White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on Thursday. This comes after the two Gulf states signed accords with Tel Aviv this week.
While speaking to the media on board Air Force One carrying President Donald Trump to Wisconsin where he is slated to address a campaign rally, he did not reveal the five nations.
Meadows said three countries were in the region.
Trump has expressed optimism about more nations following the path of the UAE and Bahrain in normalising ties with Israel.
The Sultanate of Oman is a strong possibility as its envoy had attended the White House ceremony on Tuesday. The president had said on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia was expected to strike a deal with Israel.
