WASHINGTON- On Thursday, FBI Director Christopher Wray said that China was using “any means necessary” to steal U.S. technology. He added that over 1,000 investigations regarding Chinese technology theft are opened across the FBI’s 56 regional offices.
In a Washington’s Center for Strategic & International Studies think tank conference, Wray said that the economic threat to U.S. from China was of a “diverse and multilayered” nature.
He said that the attempted theft on China’s part spanned across almost every sector of the industry.
At the same conference, Senior U.S. counter-intelligence official William Evanina said that China’s priority remained on stealing aircraft and electric vehicle technology from the U.S.
