SEOUL (SOUTH KOREA) – A South Korean company has come forth with a battery-powered filtered face mask. This has been designed to reduce problems experienced with the usual designs, such as breathing difficulties and fogged-up glasses.
LG Electronics’ PuriCare Wearable comes in one size. It features two fans and high-efficiency particle air filters. It intermittently cleans air coming in and exhaled breath.
People wearing masks face breathing difficulties and their glasses are fogged up often as the warm breath comes out from the top of the mask toward the eyes.
Choi Yoon-hee, a senior official at LG Electronics’ air solution product team, told, “Breathing is the biggest concern when it comes to wearing a face mask and disposable masks come with a huge environment cost.”
The mask has a case that charges the battery and the UV light disinfects the mask.
The battery life is about eight hours on low-power settings and two hours on its highest setting.
